### View card status.
The cardmember wants to view the current card lock or unlock status before deciding whether to lock or unlock the card.
### Lock a card.
The cardmember temporarily locks their credit card in the event of a misplaced credit card to prevent fraudulent activities from occurring with the card.
### Unlock a card
A cardmember has located their credit card after it went missing. Now, the cardmember may unlock their credit card with confidence that no fraudulent activities will occur on their credit card account.

Example use cases

* Requests and responses must be in JSON format.
* Transport Layer Security v1.2 or higher must be supported.
* OAuth 2.0 and Mutual Transport Layer Security must be supported.
* Multi-Factor Authentication is required for high-risk transactions (HRT). 



Requirements

A partner’s user interface must address these points:

* New purchases online, in stores, or over the phone will be stopped, as well as balance transfers and cash advances.
* Although your card is locked, recurring and pending transactions will continue.
* Credits, refunds, disputes and applicable fees will still be processed while the card is locked.
* Digital wallet purchases will not be affected.
* If your card has been lost, stolen or damaged, please report it immediately. Once your new card has been activated, you will need to unlock your account.

Card Controls

The Card Controls API gives cardmembers a valuable option for locking and unlocking existing cards, as well as checking the lock or unlock status of their cards.
